are we really FREE?

     Today we are celebrating our country's independence from foreign hands. Many years ago, our heroes shed tears and blood for us to attain such freedom. Many were sacrificed, hurt and lost for the sake of having this independence.

     As we celebrate this glorious holiday, let us ask ourselves... "Are we really free?" from the hands of the powerful? 

     I think WE ARE NOT.

     I have been living in this country for 18 years and I could say that we really have no freedom. Even if we SEEM free, we are not. We have been blinded by "sugar-coated" speeches that make us think we are even if we are not. 

     Yes. This is a rant. My rant and I hope as you read this you would bear with me and have an open-mind. 

     For a couple of weeks now, our government is in a ruckus; actually not just the government but the whole country itself. From the pork barrel scam to the firing in some places of our country from inefficiency of the  current administration to price increase of our basic needs. 

     I have so many things to share so I'll share it one by one XD

     First, I would like to share to you my view about the pork barrel scam. While this controversy was fresh before, I actually was really interested in it and I was actually intrigued because I thought that "Wow someone is actually trying to stop the corruption present in our society" but as the case progresses, DAMN! it is just VERY disappointing. OK I know that I dont know who is corrupt or not but SERIOUSLY? I really think  that "LIST" is as what other people call it "LUTO". 

     No offense to Mrs. Napoles but you really have some guts trying to be a "state witness". As far as I know state witnesses are the people who benefited the LEAST from the crime. So in that case, how can you be a state witness? 

    People, wake up. I mean seriously. Do you really think that list is LEGIT?

     I am gonna be honest.I actually dont "fancy" the current administration and here are some of my reasons:

     Number one: What the hell are they doing? Ok. before you react, hear me out. If I was the leader of this country, I would rather focus on making a difference and what I mean by that is do programs or projects that would actually HELP the country and not focusing on OLD scams wherein the money is already gone. Why not just feed the malnourished, try to make jobs for the unemployed, help the OFW with their problems such as abuse. You know, those kind of things. 

     I am not making this post about my rants about the current administration so let us just leave it at that :) "PEOPLE FIRST BEFORE THOSE TIME CONSUMING AND WORTHLESS CASES na sure naman kaming LUTO na"

     Number two: What is our country turning into? Yes people. We are starting to be transformed into AMERICANS. Not that I dont like US but i really think that we can never be free if we act like dogs that follow what they do. I mean yes, our economy is far lower than theirs but DAMN. Our country is richer than many countries if we look at our location and our resources. Let us stop being "sunud-sunuran". At eto pa. I know it is ironic that I will rant about this in ENGLISH but here it goes. I heard some "news" that the Filipino subject in college will be trashed. MY GOD. Why would you NOT TEACH the filipinos the language og Filipinos. I mean seriously? I know english is widely used that's why im writing this post in english but OUR LANGUAGE IS A SIGN OF OUR INDEPENDENCE and then we will NOT teach it in college? So ano? pagtapos ng mga nasa kolehiyo puro english speaking na? 

     I have visited a few countries and I really was astonished.. You know why? because almost no one knew how to speak english. They know their national language. The speak using their national language. NOW THAT is an independent country. Wag na tayong magpaalipin . Please.. Nakakaawa na nga tayo mas kakaawain pa tayo lalo. :(((

     Number three: What is wrong with those appointed people? I am not saying that ALL the people appointed by the administration is "inefficient" and crazy but SOME are. I have seen in the news that regarding the transport, some actually thought of offering a bus to the MRT users so that it would be beneficial for them. At first I was pleased with the idea because the MRT is always "FULL" of people so that would lessen the crowd but a few days after I learned from the news that if you want to ride the said bus, you still have to have an MRT ticket O.o Yung totoo? So ano? pupunta ka pa sa MRT station para  bumili ng card tapos bababa ka na naman para sumabay sa bus? Oh God. Please help these people think their plans through. Nagmumukha lang silang tanga :(((((( And please... higher people in the administration.. Salain niyo naman muna ang mga projects before you approve it hindi yung basta may maproject lang.

     Marami pa pero mahaba na kaya tama na yung tatlo XD ahahha napagod kakatype XD

     The second topic I  want to discuss is our "flawed" fight for change. I have seen many rallies, protest and other movements during my stay here in Manila. For some of these movements, I would support some but most I would not. 

     I am not pinpointing any movement but this is for all who join these kind of stuff. Please, THINK BEFORE YOU JOIN. I have seen strikes wherein people stay outdoors and they dont eat or they dont sleep. I mean C'mon people. And also I saw a movement that was against "foreign invasion" but IRONICALLY, the people in the movement were wearing clothes made from FOREIGN countries. I mean If you are gonna start a movement, make sure you BELIEVE and SUPPORT your mission by heart and not just by word. You think the government would think of what you are doing? Well this is my opinion but for me I would prefer LETTING THE MASS SEE that even non powerful people, such as ourselves could help others... Para sa akin mas gusto ko pang makita ako ng mga nasa taas na tumutulong sa iba dahil BAKA SAKALI maiisip nila na "Ayy yan pala dapat ginagawa ko" Diba? You dont need to starve yourself or to beat yourself up to get the freedom and change that we aspire. Show them that even if we are regular people, we are catalyst of change.

     Third topic, I address this to all people, Please, if you can, DO NOT DEPEND on the government. 

     I am not saying that everyone in the government are liars, mean, evil and other negatives things and I AM NOT saying this because I know a few that are in the government but because it is reality. Mayroon naman talagang nagsisilbi sa bayan and the problem now is THEY ARE OUTNUMBERED. Kaya sana instead of electing someone kasi may "suhol" , next election, pag-isipan napo natin.. 

     I know it is so ironic that I am ranting about this stuff but still believe in the government. There is still time for change and I HOPE and PRAY that the change we are waiting will be within our reach soon.

     This is because, I believe that if we start the change on ourselves, then our whole society, our whole NATION our whole WORD will change. 

I'll just leave this post with that saying :) Happy Independence day mga Kababayan! :) Let's start the change :) and ask ourselves today this question " Are we really free?"
